We are back in San Jose having enjoyed our 3 weeks in Costa Rica. Our flight home is tomorrow but we are thinking of cancelling it and staying for longer as we have heard about all the snow in the UK!!! I wish, I think if I did that work would sack me. No, its is time to come home and see everyone and bore you all with our tales and photos (we have loads more than have been on this website). See you all soon.

Santa Teresa, Nicoya Peninsula

We made the short trip to the area of Santa Teresa/ Mal Pais which is more exposed to the Pacific Ocean and therefore is better to surf at. As we are in our final few days of our trip with have turned into American tourists and thrown the budget out the window and have been residing in a resort right on the beach and on one of the main surf peaks. There is little to do around this area but enjoy the sun, the beach and the waves. I have been making the most of the head high clean waves whilst Nicole has found the swimming pool to cool down and escape the hot sun. We stay here a couple more days before heading back to Montezuma for one night, we then go by boat to Jaco and get a bus upto San Jose where we will stay the night before out flight home!!! Its been a good 3 months but the reality is that its coming to an end.

We travelled up by bus and boat to the southern tip of the Nicoya Peninsula and have spent the past two days in Montezuma. Its a pretty small place but very popular and a nice place to visit.
Today was Nicole;s birthday, we started the day with a fishing trip at 6am as the sun was rising, after Nicole landed the first tuna we opened a bottle of champagne to celebrate. As we are getting to the end of our trip we are going out in style. We continued to catch more tuna but unfortunately they were black fin and not very good to eat so we have one makeral tuna, already had some raw for lunch the rest is tonights dinner. The hotel put some colourful flowers in our room and we also watched the sun set whilst Nic sipped a cocktail. Tomorrow we make the short distance to Santa Teresa and the long surf beach, cant wait I hear it was over head and perfect yesterday, just hope I can make the paddle out.

Manual Antonio

We have been in the Quepos- Manual Antonio area for the past few days. Its is very nice, the beaches are great and are backed by lots of trees, also there is lots of wildlife nearby. Today we went for a look in the national park area and spotted spider monkeys, capacino monkeys, 2 and 3 toed sloths, lots of lizards and birds. We managed to get some good photos using the guides telescope as an amazingly powerful zoom. When we finally get to update the fotopages with pictures you may get to see some of them. The rest of the time has been spent on or around the beach, the weather has been lovely and there has been some surf to keep me occupied. Nicole has been venturing in on her bodyboard. We stayed for 2 nights in a really nice hotel right on the beach, it had a great pool too, bit of a treat but well worth it. Tomorrow we move onto Montezuma at the bottom of the Nicoya Peninsula, and as we were unable to go fishing here we will try and go there.

We left the cooler wetter climate of the high rainforest area around Monte Verde and headed south to the fishing village of Quepos on the Pacific Coast.
